This year there are several projects at the club that have been completed or are currently underway.
Replacement Large Tractor
You will soon see a new tractor replacing the large tractor a necessary purchase due to the cost of upkeep on the old tractor rising year on year.  A training date will be set for the tractor drivers to be familiarised with this new piece of club equipment soon.
Club Balcony
This project is in the last stages of planning and we will be looking to ask for volunteers to assist with the build of this. Updates to follow.
The new pagoda has now been fitted and ready for use by members.  Thank you Joe Gallacher for finding the best deal for this.
Kayak/Canoe Club and Rack
The Kayak/Canoe rack is nearly ready for use.  In order to maintain the racking for the future a small charge of £10 per year will be charged for those full members that wish to have a space.  Updates about how to arrange your space will follow.  With regards to security it is recommended that if you have a space on the rack that you arrange a padlock and chain to keep your Kayak safe.  Unfortunately Crew Memberships will not be able to have a space in the Kayak/Canoe rack due to the Club Rules restricting this benefit.  However Crew Memberships that wish to be part of the Kayak club can bring their Kayaks to the club to use or book to use the Club Kayaks when they are available.  Priority for use of the Club Kayaks will be given to full members first.

Hythe Sailing Club Annual Commodores Dinner

Participatory Hours 2019 Tasks
Club Launch
There is less than 6 weeks before the Club Launch goes back in the water.
Keith Martin has repaired and re-painted the engine box. John has helped to sort out the fenders.  The larger fenders are currently in the White Store and ready to go on the Launch. There is a list of urgent jobs still to do but the main task is to sand down the anti-fouling and re-antifoul.  The anti-fouling is in the Green Store. This will need to be added BEFORE the Launch goes back in the water.
Please let the Commodore know and Phil Pascoe if you can help with any task.

Tractor Driver Volunteers 2019
There is now a book in the wet room for Tractor Drivers to volunteer to launch and recover boats in 2019.  If you are an authorised driver or recently attended the tractor driver training session at the club please add your name and dates you are available when you know when that will be.  The booking system will remain on paper in the file for this season.

Volunteers needed
If you need to build up your contributory work hours, please consider volunteering for the following work this year:
Volunteer needed to carry out some basic maintenance work on the Club Safety boats:

Add a retaining strap to secure the portable fuel tank on the large Safety Boat Rib

Replace the throw ropes on the three Safety Boats and install them

Volunteer to regularly check the correct storage and maintenance requirements on our Safety Boats and to highlight when there is any work or corrective action needed.
Volunteer needed to assist with organising events for the new Kayak Club Section
Volunteer needed to assist with the organisation of Cruiser Rallies:  There are 6 Rallies organised for 2019.  If you would like to organise just one of the Rallies, please contact Tim Harrison.
