Participatory Hours Task (Marquee 30th June 2019 1pm) The club is looking for a group of 6-8 volunteers to help put up the Marquee ready for Open Day. This task takes approximately 2-3 hours to complete.  If you can help please fill in the form below.

Open Day Volunteers Sought for specific tasks:  The Open Day is only one month away and the club are looking for two more volunteers to take visitors out on their Cruisers and three to take visitors out on club dinghies or on their own dinghy. We are also looking for an experienced volunteer to take visitors and guests on the water in the club launch (must be authorised user) Safety Boat drivers from those members with the relevant qualifications are also sought and some Safety Boat Crew.  Please fill in your details  below if you can help out with any of these tasks.

Open Day Cake Stall: With the Open Day in a few weeks time Wendy Higson has asked if anyone is willing to donate home made cakes and biscuits including gluten free and vegan for the stall in support of the RNLI. Please email wendy@jwel.uk if you can assist with this request.

Club Balcony Update: Please note – Until further notice the balcony will be closed for refurbishment works. Please remember to collect planks before they are used for other club projects.

Lift Update: After considerable research and negotiation a contractor has been found to refurbish the lift hydraulics at a sensible price. Work will commence around the 8 July. Thank you Joe!

Radio Sailing Racing 30th June 10am – 1pm: Join us for the next race in the series or if you would like to have a go yourself we can arrange an opportunity to have a go.

Mocktails and Cocktails Evening 6th July from 1900: A very successful event last year and if the weather is good to be held in the club Marquee on the lawn with an American Supper and BBQ.  The back up plan is to hold the event in the function room if the weather is not favourable. Open Day 2019 7th July 10am-4pm: Planning for the Open Day is well under way with 18 confirmed stands. The Open Day also counts for 8 of your participatory hours if you attend from 10am – 4pm so please sign up on the Participatory board at the club or sign up at this link online http://hythesailingclub.co.uk/event/hsc-open-day/. Do you have a spare unwanted buoyancy aids, we need a few more for the Open Day, we especially need very small ones and adult ones all sizes so that we can keep people safe if they are going out on our boats.  Please leave them in the wet room or bring early on the Open Day.
 
Sail in Company to Alderney 12th July – Flexible return date.  Join us for a sail in company to Alderney with some boats continuing on to other destinations from there on the Monday 15th.  Some boats are going on to Dartmouth some to unconfirmed destinations or returning to the club.  The plan for Alderney is to depart on the 12th July to stay overnight in Lymington, Yarmouth or anchor in the location of your choice then meet up to sail across early on the 13th.  Andrew White is OOD for this event and you can book to take part at this link http://hythesailingclub.co.uk/event/sail-in-company-to-alderney-cherbourg/

Open Coaching Year of the Dinghy Event Weekend Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August 10am: This year the club is holding a fun weekend on the water for all members and their families and guests. This is an opportunity to get your sailing dinghy on the water and to take members who do not own a dinghy out for a sail. (Counts towards participatory hours) There will also be Club Dinghy Sailing (Including the new Fushion) Kayaking, Radio Sailing Race, BBQ, American Supper, Team Tractor Pull Competition, Camping and Rubber Dub Race.
