Club Member Phil Pascoe to receive “RYA Volunteer Award” for “Lifetime Commitment” I am pleased to announce that Phil Pascoe after being nominated by the club has been awarded an “RYA Community Award” in the category of “Lifetime Commitment” This is due to his many years of volunteering at the club organising the Cruiser Racing, representing HSC at the SWSA, Rear Commodore Sailing and maintenance of the club launch to name just a few areas he has contributed over more than 20 years. Rallies, Saunters and Sail in Company 2020 Due to the success of members running events on the water this year the club would like to ask for volunteers to OOD Rallies, Saunters or Sail in Companies with destinations proposed by that OOD.  If you have an event you would like to run as OOD to a specific location next year to complete your participatory hours please fill in the form by selecting the link below: http://hythesailingclub.co.uk/2019/07/30/rally-ood-volunteer-for-2020-with-location-and-proposed-dates-if-volunteering-for-more-than-one-event-please-complete-a-second-form/

Membership for 2020. (Direct Debit Scheme being discussed) Update for plans next year around easier ways for the club members to pay for their membership fees.  There are ideas are being looked at by the General Committee around Membership fees being obtained by monthly direct debit over 10 months for 2020.  This scheme has some costs involved and therefore these would be added onto the membership cost per month for those paying by Direct Debit.  Please can you complete the form below so that we can get an idea as a club of how many members would like the option to pay in this way. (Those that wish to pay yearly the option would still be available as normal)  Direct Debit payments would run from January to October each year.

For Sale – Classic , Swedish built sailing cruiser with GRP hull , wooden uppers and teak deck

“Baltic Lady”, a Vindo 40, is reluctantly for sail owing to lack of time to sail her. She is a really nice looking boat with a long keel making her exceptionally stable and sea kindly. Her hull is GRP so whilst she has the appearance of a classic there aren’t the risks and maintenance associated with a wooden hull. Her decks are teak and she has wooden uppers and cockpit and has a traditional feel. Being of Swedish origins she is very well built and very sound.
She is 5 berth ( 6 if hammock berth included ) with two cabins , a galley area , chart table and separate heads with a pull out basin . She is powered by a Volvo 2030 engine and has the usual array of instrumentation including radar, and a chart plotter etc.
She is in good order and ready to sail.
I have her on the market with Network Yacht Brokers at Lymington (see link for details  : https://www.networkyachtbrokers.com/boats_for_sale/Vindo_40-04441.html/ ) at £24,450 but am open to reasonable offers below this and will include a tender and trailer within the price.
She is on the left side of the club (looking out to sea) and is the last boat on the left next to the water. If you are interested give me a call and I would be delighted to show you around.
