Club Launch Use An update to clarify the Club Launch use and what it can be used for. If you are a member who has been trained in its use and you are on the authorised list at the club the club are happy for you to use the launch as required to take members to their boats and collect them plus any emergencies if safe to do so. The launch is also used as a Committee Boat for the Cruiser racing and any other requests for other types of use please ask a committee member for clarification. The minimum number of persons in ideal circumstances on the launch should be two persons and life jackets must be worn at all times by all those on board. The maximum allowed on the launch at any one time is 8 persons and no alcohol is to be consumed on board or prior to its use. The trainers at this time who are authorised to show persons over the launch and authorise them as launch drivers are Dave Sparks and Phil Pascoe. This is to ensure consistency of training.
Parking beside the creek bordering the lawn area The club has had a fantastic year for new memberships especially owners of cruisers. Due to this and the high number of boat owners with large boats that do not come ashore the parking will become limited over time for vehicles by the creek. Please note that there will be a cordoned off area bordering the lawn soon where the cars normally park to support storage of tenders for our new members as they do not have a pound space. You are welcome to park outside this cordoned off area if you go away on long trips whilst there is room and if there is no space available please park your cars closest to the clubhouse in the bays that will soon be marked as Long Stay only. If using the car park over the sailing season please do not park in these long stay marked bays when they are complete unless you are going away for more that 3 days. Thank you in advance for your understanding with these new restrictions to support our members.
Small Tractor “The bosun team” are planning to start repair work on the small tractor gearbox next Tuesday 20.8.19. The tractor will be out of use for a short while after this date.

Security Notice There have been some thefts from the club and due to this the club has invested in CCTV and will be looking at installing other security improvements. Something that has been noted is club house doors being left insecure and the gate when on manual not being padlocked. To ensure we keep our club secure if you are on site after 6pm please ensure that the club house front and rear doors are locked by pulling them too when you leave. For Sale – Classic , Swedish built sailing cruiser with GRP hull , wooden uppers and teak deck
“Baltic Lady”, a Vindo 40, is reluctantly for sail owing to lack of time to sail her. She is a really nice looking boat with a long keel making her exceptionally stable and sea kindly. Her hull is GRP so whilst she has the appearance of a classic there aren’t the risks and maintenance associated with a wooden hull. Her decks are teak and she has wooden uppers and cockpit and has a traditional feel. Being of Swedish origins she is very well built and very sound.
She is 5 berth ( 6 if hammock berth included ) with two cabins , a galley area , chart table and separate heads with a pull out basin . She is powered by a Volvo 2030 engine and has the usual array of instrumentation including radar, and a chart plotter etc.
She is in good order and ready to sail.
I have her on the market with Network Yacht Brokers at Lymington (see link for details : https://www.networkyachtbrokers.com/boats_for_sale/Vindo_40-04441.html/ ) at £24,450 but am open to reasonable offers below this and will include a tender and trailer within the price.
She is on the left side of the club (looking out to sea) and is the last boat on the left next to the water. If you are interested give me a call and I would be delighted to show you around.
