Hythe Sailing Club Price List

These prices are in effect as of 19th May 2024.

For membership, mooring and pound charges referring to an annual charges, these cover the period 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025.

Hythe Sailing Club is pleased to offer members the opportunity to spread membership, mooring and pound costs over several months, and is currently using GoCardless for this. Members must note that all costs are annual and are due for payment in full on 1st April; refunds are not normal and only on a discretionary basis. Paying monthly does not offer membership on a ‘pay as you go’ monthly subscription basis.

Membership Fees

The club’s membership year begins on 1st April.

Participatory Hours


Participatory hours are to be completed between 1st January and 31st December. Surcharge for non completion will be due for payment on 1st April the following year.
For hours not completed between 1/1/23 to 31/12/23, the surcharge due for payment 1/4/24 will be £96 for all membership types.
For hours not completed between 1/1/24 and 31/12/24, the surcharge due for payment 1/4/25 will be equivalent to the membership fee, as shown in the table above.
When any Single Member or when either partner in a Family or Senior Partner Membership class is aged 72 or over on the date of annual subscription, they shall thereafter be exempt work party duties.

New Members


Joining administration fee £10.00
New members joining up to 30th September are charged the annual membership fee as above. From 1st October, membership fee is 1/12th of the annual charge for each month to March. The number of months will be rounded up.
New members are required to complete a reduced number of participatory hours. The requirement is one hour per month of the membership year remaining, the number of months will be rounded up.

Mooring Fees

Annual Mooring fee to be paid is calculated by adding together two components:

  • Mooring maintenance and services
  • ABP Harbour Dues / HSC Summer Pound Fee
Mooring maintenance and services

The component due annually for rental, maintenance and provision of services is calculated by allocated mooring row. Boats that stay out over winter on club moorings pay an additional ‘Winter afloat’ charge:

ABP Harbour Dues / HSC Summer Pound Fee:

This component is calculated based on length of boat:

HSC Summer Pound Fee is separate and in addition to any Unlaunched Charge that may be raised.

Mid year allocations will be charged by full month (rounding up in case of part months) with each month as 1/12th of the annual fee.

 

Mooring fees are payable when a mooring is allocated to the member / potential member by the Mooring & Pound secretary – actual launch / arrival date is not used.

 

Mooring fees are non refundable.

 

All boats stored in the pound will have a mooring allocated, and both mooring and pound must be paid for, whether the boat is launched or not.

Pound Fees

 

Annual Pound fees, includes both rental and provision of associated services. Applies to cruisers and dinghies.

Area Calculation (copied from M&P Bylaws):

Chargeable area = (Length x Width) + FSA = Sq Metres to be charged.

Chargeable Length (Metres): Max LOA incl. Davits, Pulpits, Bowspits and fixed trailer hitches.

Chargeable Width (Metres): Largest of max Width of Trailer or boat Beam. If this is not known at time of application, it will be taken as Beam + 0.6m for cruisers, or Beam + 0.3m for dinghies.

RIBs and Motor Boats that are not allocated a mooring, will be charged the appropriate pound charge, plus the row 10 mooring charge to ensure equitable charges across all boats.

 

Un launched rates

 

Hythe Sailing Club is a sailing club for active members, and as such, additional fees are required to be paid if a boat cannot be launched for any reason.

Potential unlaunched charges will be notified to each boat owner, at the start of the season, that will be charged at the end of the season should they not launch. If an unlaunched charge is raised at then end of the season, it is due for payment before the end of the calendar year.

Function Room Hire

Training course access

Non members are permitted to join members on privately run training courses at the club. A fee for access to the club is payable via the course leader.
Escorted access to the club for up to 6 months – per person £30.00

Club and Site access

Following the sale of a member’s boat to a non member, the selling member may sponsor the purchasing non-member to have short term unescorted access to the site and club.

When confirmed as returned, £10 for the gate card and £10 for club key will be refunded to the non-member.
