A two day course for level two powerboat. No previous experience needed, but an ability to tie knots, basic navigation, or even some powerboat driving experience will all be helpful.
Priced at £100.00 This includes: – Contribution towards the cost of the fuel, RYA Start Power Boating booklet, Cost of the certificate -assuming you pass! There are no tuition costs for this course, as it is run by volunteer club members who are qualified RYA Powerboat Instructors.
BOOKING WILL BE OPEN FROM MID OCTOBER AND WILL BE ANNOUNCED VIA ‘THE BULLETIN’, ON THE WEBSITE, AND A NOTICE ON THE TRAINING BOARD AT THE CLUB.
Clothing; Please bring suitable warm clothing including waterproofs, hat, gloves and sailing shoes/boots (all may get wet, feet will definitely get wet getting the boats out!), all appropriate for the time of year plus change of clothing and towel. We should finish by 5:30pm.
Lifejackets The Club is able to provide buoyancy aids. If you would like to wear your own lifejacket, please ensure that it’s serviceability is in date in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
Refreshments; Please bring your own lunch refreshments. We can use the coffee area one at a time to make drinks whilst ashore, a flask maybe useful.
Weather and tides As the tides are early in the day, we will be leaving the boats in the Marina overnight, therefore we will probably need to travel to the Marina On Sunday morning and we can organise that Saturday, or arrange car park passes for the Marina.
Please bring a passport sized photo which will be needed for your certificate as is your address and dob. This is needed for the certificate.
